MVHR commissioning and servicing in London
Our work does not end at installation. Domani Ventilation provides post-installation commissioning, certification, and ongoing MVHR and MEV servicing for residential and commercial properties across London and Greater London.
From routine filter maintenance to full performance verification, we help keep ventilation systems efficient, quiet, and compliant with design intent and Building Regulations Part F.

What is MVHR commissioning?
MVHR commissioning is the structured process of verifying that a ventilation system is installed correctly, tested, balanced, and adjusted to perform as designed. It confirms airflow rates, pressure relationships, control operation, and overall system safety before handover.
Commissioning typically includes:
- Visual inspection of units, ductwork, terminals, and insulation
- Airflow measurement and balancing at supply and extract points
- Functional tests of fans, dampers, bypass modes, and controls
- Identification and correction of issues before they affect occupants or compliance
For systems we install, we also offer pre-commissioning — a post-installation check that the fitted system is complete and ready for formal testing.
Our certification service provides independent confirmation that commissioning has been completed in line with design specifications, industry practice, and Part F requirements.
Why regular MVHR servicing matters
Planned servicing protects efficiency, indoor air quality, and equipment life. We recommend professional servicing at regular intervals — typically every six to twelve months depending on occupancy, environment, and manufacturer guidance — so issues are caught early.
During a service visit our technicians may:
- Replace or clean air filters
- Inspect and clean fan assemblies; lubricate moving parts where required
- Check ductwork for blockages, leaks, or damage
- Calibrate sensors for temperature, humidity, and flow
- Run functional performance tests and provide a written report
Proactive maintenance reduces the likelihood of costly breakdowns and helps maintain the healthy indoor environment MVHR systems are installed to provide.
Key commissioning and maintenance focus areas
Performance optimisation
We measure and adjust airflow so the system operates at design efficiency, using anemometers and manometers to identify restrictions or imbalances.
Energy efficiency
Servicing highlights factors that increase fan energy use or reduce heat recovery effectiveness, so corrections can be made before running costs rise.
Indoor air quality
We verify that supply air paths, filtration, and extract rates are working together to deliver clean, fresh air throughout the property.
Regulatory compliance
Commissioning documentation supports Building Regulations sign-off and gives owners, landlords, and developers a clear record of system performance at handover.
